Day 7

Captains’ Note - Today we are inserting two days to the Blog Reports, Wednesday and Thursday. Don’t forget to go back to Wednesday’s report after reading this report for Thursday.

This final report from the first series of Blog Reports (we are doing three a piece) is being made by Captain Shirl (SEGII).

On Thursday night we finally got a GREAT nights sleep, and all Three Captains slept in until 8:00am (man that’s better than 5:00am), and we needed the rest after completing one third, and probably the most difficult part of the trip, given the weather, the cold, and the wind and very choppy waves. We walked a coupled of blocks and ate breakfast at a wonderful mom and pop eatery, and began the day.

After visiting the boat yard to make sure the repairs were underway, we spent most of Thursday, going to Verizon to replace John’s phone, and then moving around Charleston going to West Marine to pick-up a few nautical supplies, visiting Wal-Mart, and going by the Charleston City Marina to pick up electronic GPS chart chips for the remainder of the trip. We ate lunch at Five Guys (an unbelievably delicious hamburger and French fry restaurant), and ended the day at Best Buy, as Will picked up a computer camera card reader cord. So tonight we will be able to a share with you many pictures which Will has taken with his very expensive telescopic camera.

The remainder of the Blog Report tonight will be our sharing several captioned pictures:

  1. Are we going to have to move to the east coast to get one of the marinas that someone walked away from?
