Day 10 brought to you by Captain Will

Ahhh the warmth of the south; 6:15am and 70 degrees. Goal and focus of the day - get to Daytona Beach to bring the boat owner back on board from his sabbatical leading a Development Session for the Principals and Assistant Principals in the RSD (Recovery School District) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with an end goal of getting to John’s cousin in Rockledge, Florida before dark. The morning was quite uneventful if you would call beautiful homes, wildlife and the occasional fisherman uneventful.

We arrived at Daytona Beach Florida at 11:15am, and made best of a great lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant in Daytona, wow if you have never been there they have lighted sinks flashing different colors in the restroom, I know, I know, TMI (to much information) right? Anyway the stars were aligned and just as we finished little did we know Shirl had landed and was enroute to the marina. When he showed up we got underway and Shirl having missed lunch prepared a small picnic for himself of mystery meat, Ritz Crackers, Planters Peanuts and Diet Rootbeer.

The day continued with more wildlife - hawks, pelicans, heron, manatee, fish eagles and some real different looking people, LOL. We were making great time and landed in Rockledge, Florida (10 miles south of Cape Canaveral formally Cape Kennedy) parking our boat graciously at the dock of the neighbor Terry and Rhonda Graham. We gathered our belongings and headed inside of their beautifully restored 100-year old home, right on the ICW, where we were blessed by John and Joyce Morlin with a Spaghetti, meatballs, salad, and apple pie dinner. We sit here now with our round belly’s, writing the blog, and preparing to spend the night.
